The Univ. of Ottawa Kiwanis CKI Club and International House (iHouse) are proud to present and co-host a Hunger Banquet to engage the campus on the problems of global hunger.
We will have tables for the next few weeks leading up to the event in the University Centre to promote/sell tickets!!! For those interested in helping out at one of the tables, please contact Shiva Adel at: shiva@circlekclub.com

Tickets: $8.00 in advance OR $10.00 at the door!!!

A Hunger Banquet is a metaphor for how food and other resources are inequitably distributed in the world. Those who attend the event will be randomly assigned to one of three socio-economic levels – high-income class (represented by 15% of the world’s population), middle-income class (represented by ~25% of the world’s population) and low-income class (the majority of the world’s population, roughly 60%). Thus, participants’ meals will proportionally mirror the world in which we live. Some will dine elegantly, some will eat plainly, and many will eat meagerly.
We hope that some of you can join us for this event and walk away with a new understanding of world hunger.
Tickets: $5.00 in advance OR $6.00 at the door.
Event: Wed. Nov. 26th - starts at 6:30 pm sharp!
Location: University of Ottawa - University Centre on the 2nd floor (near the Tim Hortons stand)
And P.S. We urge you to dress very comfortably-preferably jeans and sneakers would suffice - this is not your average dinner! |
